Nancy Gracia

Nancy Gracia, Owner / Designer

Interior Designer, Nancy Gracia has been designing interiors for over two decades. Working for a notable design firm in early 2000, she learned different aspects of the industry by fabricating soft goods for luxury projects. Her draperies and soft goods have been in Architectural Digest more than once and even though it was in the background, she knew her desire to learn more about design was much more than being in a supporting role. In 2007, she decided to commute each day from Pennsylvania to NYC to attend the New York School of Interior Design. After graduating from NYSID with a bachelors in Interior Design, it was time to focus on continued learning. Taking woodworking courses from Chuck Bender, a master furniture maker, solidified her appreciation for bespoke woodworking. She then apprenticed under Bob Schultz, a highly respected kitchen designer in Bucks County and learned to mix her knowledge of woodworking and millwork design. It was at this time her respect and passion grew for historic homes. That led to working with a custom woodworker in designing his personal kitchen which was nationally featured in Cottages and Bungalows magazine. In 2009, Nancy purchased The Milnor House, a historic dwelling built in 1800, which she has slowly restored while overseeing extensive design projects in Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas for Bare Root Design. She continues to stay in touch with NYSID every semester where she serves as an industry expert for final kitchen/bath projects. Nancy spends her “free” time playing the piano, singing out loud, gardening, making tacos and caring for her Westie.
